We live in the small community of Kimberley Ontario, Canada. We named our cattery after a wilderness park in Ontario, Algonquin Provincial Park. We have canoed Algonquin every year since 1968. We thought it would be interesting to name our cats and kittens after the lakes and rivers that we travel and love in the park. This explains some of their unusual names that can be a bit difficult to pronounce :-)
Our first Devon Rex, Petawawa, arrived from Texas in July 1990.This curly coated, black kitten immediately stole our hearts. Cache, our silver lynx point, is Wawa's great, great granddaughter.
We've always worked with a small number of cats. This way the cats are not caged and their environment
is relaxed and we have more time to enjoy our cats and kittens. Healthy cats and kittens are our primary concern  but we have been fortunate to obtain some wonderful lines that have produced high quality kittens. We've bred towards the CFA and CCA Devon Rex standards without compromising health or temperament. There have been many  breeders that have shared their lines with me and I'm  grateful to them for their generosity and the work that they have done to improve this breed.
Our kittens are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and are issued a veterinarian's health certificate  before they go to their new homes. Our litters are registered in the
Canadian Cat Association ( CCA ) and the Cat Fancier's Association (CFA ). We provide a 3-generation pedigree, litter registration papers, a vaccination record, information on cat health and safety issues and recommendations about food and litter with every kitten.
This cattery volunteered to be part of a 2 year health study on the Devon Rex breed which was overseen by
Dr. Susan Little.
Breeding Devons is a labour of love and the wonderful people we meet along the way are a bonus.
